So...when did 2022 happen?
Happy New Year!
Holy smokes y'all. I haven't blogged in over a year! That's the whirlwind of 2021 in a nutshell, right?
I don't know about you, but my 2021 consisted of puppies, puppies, and MORE puppies.
In case you missed it, my sister and I got puppies (separate litters) during the summer of 2020. We'd lost our old dog the year before, and my boy just as quarantine started in 2020, so we only had one left and she was VERY depressed being an only dog. So we got two.
Fast forward to early 2021, Posey, my sister's dog started heat for the first time, the week before her scheduled spay. Our house was like a weird dog sex-crazed house. It was insane and like nothing we'd never seen before. We had Posey in diapers, and even had mine (the boy) wearing them too, as extra precaution. Well if you wouldn't know it, they can "tie" really fast! Something that wasn't portrayed in the YouTube video I watched just days before. (Insert extreme eye rolling here). Needless to say, after they "consummated their love" a few more times, we had a puppy wedding on Easter Sunday, and very quickly realized we were expecting. Fast forward 63ish days and one c-section later, we had 6 babies! 4 boys and 2 girls.
It was the hardest and most adorable 8 weeks ever. And of course, one stayed with us. He got pretty sick those first few days and my sister (NOT ME, as it was expected to be) bonded with the "blue" puppy, now formally named, Howard Blu, or Howie if he's being good.
2021 also consisted of a Vegas trip, not quite as epic as our first girl's trip in 2020...our Airbnb had bars on every single window and door, and of course the roach I stumbled across at 1am. Needless to say, we are staying at a hotel this year, lol.
2021 was also an insanely busy year at my "day job" and first love, The Hitching Post. Photography took a back seat to work and most definitely to my body not cooperating and feeling quite old! Needless to say, 2022 is my year just to FEEL better. I guess I've reached the age where a weekly chiropractor visit is needed, haha!
How was your year? I'm just hoping 2022 is S-L-O-W-E-R, in all aspects.
